Pascal Bidégorry and his 11 men crew aboard the maxi trimaran Banque Populaire V has just broken the historic North Atlantic Record. With an overal time of 3 days 15 hours 25 minutes and 45 seconds, the 40 meters long multihuls has covered the 2921 miles at an average speed of 32,94 knots !


They left New York (the Ambrose light) at 22:47 UTC on July the 30th and crossed the Atlantic in only 3 days and a half. Pascal Bidégorry from La Rochelle in France and his crew crossed the fininshing line at Lizard cape at 2:13 pm this Sunday.

Banque Populaire V is the last and the biggest offshore racing trimaran in the world. She was launched in August 2008 in Lorient.

During this short North Atlantic crossing, the second of her live, Banque Popualire V also broke the 24 hours record, sailing 908 milles at the extreme average speed of 37,8 knots !
