This last stage was very difficult and the crossing of the Bay of Biscay was hard for the nerves and very tiredness. In the end this Thomas Ruyant (Faber France) which cuts the first the finish line followed by Nicolas Boidevezi (G.D.E) and Bertrand Delesne (Raging Bull). Considering series boats it is Antoine Debled (Régionsjob.com), which prevails before Fabien Sellier (Surfrider Foundation) and Davy Beaudart (Port à sec Guy Beaudart).
Thomas Ruyant (Faber France) to category prototypes that uproots this great victory, he finished 5th in Step La Rochelle / Gijon. A cheerful and happy Thomas that sign with the Mini Pavois its second consecutive victory at the beginning of the 2009 season. That smells good for the September’s race, The Charente-Maritime/Bahia Transat 6.50. The Mediterranean Bertrand Delesne (Raging Bull) finished second with his brand new proto plan Manuard. Bertrand signs a beautiful season’s start by being 2nd in Gijon and 3rd in Birvideaux. 3rd, the amazing and friendly Rémi Aubrun (AT Children Project) : 3rd and 4th in Gijon to Birvideaux.
On series side, the victory goes to Davy Beaudart (Port à sec Guy Beaudart) after winning the first stage of Gijon and being third in Birvideaux. Davy wins brilliantly the Mini Pavois 2009. Just a short distance separates him from Fabien Sellier (Surfrider Foundation), which ends 2nd of the stage Gijon/Birvideaux after finishing 4th in La Rochelle/Gijon’s stage. Hats off for Fabien who finishes on the 2nd step of the podium and crossed the finish line with a magnificent sea bass fished : offshore sailor and fisherman... all together... Finally in third place, there is Pierre-Yves Lautrou (Altaïde Moovement) who, after his beautiful 2nd place in Gijon, finished 7th at Birvideaux. He ends at the overall classification 2 hours before Antoine Debled (Régionsjob.com).
All boats are ashore and sailors safe... See you in September for the Charente-Maritime / Bahia Transat 6.50 2009.
