L’Hydroptère breaks the 50 knots barrier
The foiler announces 100 km/h as top speed in the South of France

Alain Thébault and his crew sailed by “only” 20 to 25 knots of wind.
They would have also beaten the speed Speed #speedsailing records on one nautical mille with an average speed Speed #speedsailing of 47,8 knots. One remembers that this was the top speed of the 40 meters long trimaran Banque Populaire V at the time of its record Record #sailingrecord on the Atlantic last month.
On its side, the Hydrofoil still announces a top speed of 54 knots! That is to say 100 km/h. A speed recorded by the GPS on board…
