NYYC Annual Regatta
With 135 boats competing, the New York Yacht Club’s 157th Annual Regatta presented by Rolex, held June 10-12, broke all of its past attendance records, and with winds whipping into the high teens for buoy racing over the weekend, it certainly is in line for being the most memorable Annual Regatta in recent history.

Team Groupama
Today, Saturday 14 May, Groupama 4, the first Volvo 70 built in France, was launched at 1400 GMT, opposite Groupama Sailing Team’s base in Lorient. Groupama’s representatives, the sailors, the members of the shore team and an enthusiastic crowd attended this important stage of the project led by skipper Franck Cammas.

This Saturday morning, at 0545 GMT, Groupama 4 left the Multiplast yard in Vannes, SW Brittany. After a delivery by road, Franck Cammas’ new Volvo Open 70 arrived at Groupama Sailing Team’s base in nearby Lorient at 0830 hours, a moment the whole team had been looking forward to.

Volvo Ocean Race
CAMPER with Emirates Team New Zealand took another major step forward today in their Volvo Ocean Race programme, when skipper Chris Nicholson took the yacht for its first sail in the Hauraki Gulf in New Zealand. CAMPER is the first Volvo Open 70 that has been launched for the 2011/12 Volvo Ocean Race.
