Groupama still leads • Sill overtakes Ecover
Groupama still leads, as three boats are still in touch with the leaders. Virbac skirts high zone to East and is safely in NE Trades. Sill moves into second place and eats into Virbac’s lead. Multi’s on extreme ends nose ahead
Just over 2 days since the multihulls started from Le Havre and the main pack have already passed the latitude of Finisterre, 640 miles down the track. Multihulls already half way across the Bay of Biscay
After more than 24 hours 24 hours 24 hours best distance covered records of racing the multihulls are already half way across the Bay of Biscay, and the current leader of the fleet is Belgacom (Nélias/L.Peyron FRA), her bows now 12m ahead of Groupama (Cammas/Proffit), who now register on the current podium positioned to the north west of (...) -

All 14 multihulls opened their wings and took off at 10h00
At 10 o’clock French time exactly, the canon was fired at last for the 14 Open 60 Multihulls which have been tied to the pontoons in Le Havre for an extra 3 days. Dick/Abiven a scant 4m from Golding/Thompson
The new Farr design Open 60 Virbac (Dick/Abiven FRA) is stealing a march on the race leaders, already overtaking Sill (Jourdain/Thomson) in terms of distance to finish by the final rankings on Monday at 2000hrs French time.
