Figaro, Class40 and new 60’ for Stamm

Swiss skipper makes built a Kouyoumdjian monohull for the Vendée Globe

Swiss skipper Bernard Stamm will be everywhere from 2010. He will enter for the first time in the solo Figaro-Bénéteau circuit and will comptete in the Route du Rhum Route du Rhum #RouteDuRhum in the Class40 Class40 #Class40 division. At the same time, his third IMOCA Imoca #IMOCA boat, a new Kouyoumdjian designed Open 60 will be built at Decision SA in Switzerland.

There is no crises in Bernard Stamm’s world. the swiss skipper who won twice the Velux 5 Oceans Velux 5 Oceans #Velux5Oceans and finished the last Vendée Globe beaching his Farr designed Cheminées Poujoulat in the Kerguelen island will be back in the IMOCA Imoca #IMOCA cicruit with a new monohull.

Stamm has annouced he has chosen Juan Kouyoumdjian (twice winner of the Volvo Ocean RAce with ABN Amro and Ericsson teams and designer of the wide Pindar) as designer ofr his new monohull. She will be the third one after SuperBigou, the Pierre Rolland designed he built himself in Brittany and the Farr one he bought to Jean-Pierre Dick for the last Vendée Globe. the new one will be built at Decision SA and the ship-owner will be the Landolt family who follows Stamm from the 1rst 60’ campaign.

Once the new 60’ will be launched, Cheminées Poujoulat, Stamm’ sponosor, will be the main partner for the new Vendée Globe campaign.

Before that, Poujoulat and Stamm will have a strong season in 2010. For the first time, the Swiss skipper will compete at the helm of a Figaro-Bénéteau 2. In April, he will enter the two-handed Transat AG2R from Concarneau (south-west of Brittany, France) to St Barthelemy. In the summer, he will be alone at the helm during the famous french race, the Solitaire du Figaro Solitaire du Figaro #LaSolitaire , a four 3-4 days legs race in the Channel and bay of Biscay.

Past Mini-Transat Mini-Transat #MiniTransat skipper, Stamm never entered in the Solitaire, the race won several times by Michel Desjoyeaux, Jean Le Cam and which makes the french best solo offshore sailors such as Charles Caudrelier, Jeremie Beyou, Pascal Bidegorry or Franck Cammas…

After this Figaro time, Stamm won’t hav finished his season of competition as he well be back aboard a Class40 Class40 #Class40 . He will enter the Route du Rhum Route du Rhum #RouteDuRhum , the other famous french solo race from Saint Malo to POinte à Pitre in Guadeloupe.

From 2010, Stamm will be everywhere. A good news !
