Bodacious Dream, the third Kiwi 40FC launched in December last year, has completed the sea trial and will be shipped to Florida (United States) at the beginning of February.

Dave Rearick, Bodacious Dream American skipper, has intensively taken the boat test sailing in the Wellington harbour in the last few weeks. The boat has shown amazing performances: 21.7 knots were reached last week in 25 knots of wind.

Lapo Ancillotti – BTBoats director – has declared:

“We definitely wanted to design an all- round Class40 Class40 #Class40 and I had the feeling that most of the designs are fairly specialized, specifically for reaching. We wanted to develop a boat that could be raced effectively in many circumstances, short-handed, fully-crewed, inshore and offshore and I think we’ve really achieved something”.

Bodacious Dream is currently racing in the Nelson Race, the classic regatta that takes the Wellington fleet across the Cook Strait to Nelson. Once arrived in the United States, Bodacious Dream will compete in the Atlantic Cup before starting the working up program for the 2013/14 Global Ocean Race.
