Banque Populaire V breaks Groupama 3’s record

They left New York (the Ambrose light) at 22:47 UTC on July the 30th and crossed the Atlantic in only 3 days and a half. Pascal Bidégorry from La Rochelle in France and his crew crossed the fininshing line at Lizard cape at 2:13 pm this Sunday.
Banque Populaire V is the last and the biggest offshore racing trimaran in the world. She was launched in August 2008 in Lorient Lorient L’actualité du port de Lorient et de sa région. .
During this short North Atlantic crossing, the second of her live, Banque Popualire V also broke the 24 hours record Record #sailingrecord , sailing 908 milles at the extreme average speed of 37,8 knots !
