’Inside Sailing’ new TV programme on CNN

to debut at 2030 GMT Sunday November 25

Sailors worldwide will be able to keep up with the latest sailing news with CNN’s new TV programme Inside Sailing starting this Sunday the 25th November at 2030 GMT.

CNN’s special sailing presenter Lou James, along with CNN business Business #Business anchors Becky Anderson and Liz George will be bringing viewers the exhilarating and glamorous world of sailing every month in a half-an-hour programme. From the business Business #Business the sport generates, news of the latest major races and regattas around the world, to the thrill of the sport and the stunning human endeavour of the world’s greatest sailors, ’Inside Sailing’ aims to become the definitive reference point on this multi-billion dollar sport.

The first programme of this new series features the excitement of the Open 60 racing multihulls and monohulls at the start of the Transat The Transat #thetransat #ostar Jacques-Vabre in France and its dramatic finish in Brazil, with contributions from Ellen MacArthur, Michel Desjoyeaux and Nick Moloney. Greg Searle the Olympic gold medal recruit with the GBR Challenge gets ’physical’ as the crew train for the ultimate challenge in match racing, winning the America’s Cup America's Cup #AmericasCup .

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston relives some of his career’s greatest moments. Liz George assesses how the boat building industry is coping with the threat of recession. There is a feature on the development of offshore racing multihulls and a news round-up including the Volvo Ocean Race and Steve Fossett’s incredible 4 day 17 hour record Record #sailingrecord breaking Transatlantic run aboard Playstation.

The monthly half-an-hour programme presented by CNN will be transmitted the last Sunday every month at 2030 GMT and is repeated the following week on Wednesday at 1730 GMT and Saturday at 1830 GMT.

In addition to the monthly programmes, two minute ’Inside Sailing’ vignettes will air every week bringing CNN viewers the latest sailing news. The TV programme is further complemented by a dedicated website section at www.cnn.com/insidesailing for worldwide weekly updates.
